Stone mosaics and textile art are heavier and deeper than prints, so a standard picture frame is rarely enough. This guide lists what to specify when you order custom wooden frames, so the sample is right the first time.

Key points
- Specify outside size, inside (artwork) size and rebate depth for every frame.
- Stone art needs a deeper profile and a rigid back; textile art needs shadow-box depth.
- Solid wood, wood veneer or painted MDF, finished with water-based coatings.
- MOQ 50 pieces per design; samples in 10–15 days.
Frames are a new line for our factory, made to customer drawings. Images marked “illustrative” come from Unsplash and are not Tam Quang Minh products.
Why frames for stone and textile art are different
A stone mosaic can weigh several kilograms and needs a frame that will not twist when it is hung. Textile and tapestry pieces have depth and texture that should not be pressed flat behind glass. Both need a profile, back and hanging system designed for the artwork, not taken from a catalogue of picture frames.

What to specify in your drawing
- Outside and inside sizes – the visible window and the overall frame.
- Rebate depth – the thickness of artwork plus backing, with a small allowance.
- Profile – width and height of the moulding, flat or stepped, any chamfer.
- Back and fixing – rigid back panel for stone, fabric-friendly mounting for textiles.
- Hanging hardware – D-rings, cleats or wire, matched to the weight.
- Front cover – open, acrylic or none; we source acrylic to your specification.
Materials and finishes
We work with solid rubberwood, pine, acacia, oak, walnut and ash, with wood veneer on engineered panels and with MDF for painted profiles. Corners are cut on CNC and joined to your specification; finishes are applied in our own paint room with water-based coatings in natural, stained, black or colour-matched tones.

Sampling, MOQ and packing
Each design starts with a sample in 10–15 days after the specification is confirmed. The MOQ is 50 pieces per design and production takes 30–45 days after sample approval and deposit. Frames are packed with corner protectors and foam in export cartons; read our export packing guide. Full details are on our wooden frames page.
The bottom line: design the frame around the artwork
Start from the artwork’s weight and depth, then choose the profile, back and hanging system. Send us a drawing or a photo with sizes and we will propose a sample.
