OUR COMMITMENT

Worker safety and environmental responsibility carry the same weight as quality and schedule in all of our manufacturing and installation work.

Tam Quang Minh’s environmental management system is certified to ISO 14001. The company’s code of conduct makes occupational health and safety and fire prevention a top priority: we take every necessary measure to prevent and reduce the risk of injury, harm to workers’ health and damage to property.

The commitments below apply at the Xuan Phu factory, the An Khe office and on construction sites, both to our own employees and to the crews and subcontractors working there.

01

Protective equipment

Workers are issued with, and use, protective equipment suited to each stage of production. Uniforms and protective equipment are handed over on the first day, with a signed record for tools and equipment. Workshop rules require staff to wear the company-issued uniform throughout working hours. The production staff handbook has a dedicated section on workshop safety, protective equipment, shifts, machinery and incident response.

02

Machine operation training

Only trained staff may operate CNC machines and processing equipment. The factory uses a CNC router with a 1,300 × 2,500 mm table and a separate horizontal boring machine; new workers are coached on the job before they run a machine. Production staff take part in occupational safety training. No one may connect, dismantle or repair electrical equipment without permission, and only sockets and electrical equipment supplied by the company may be used.

03

Fire prevention

The factory has fire-fighting equipment, emergency exits and incident procedures. The factory has a fire-fighting and rescue plan, a fire-safety team and an automatic fire alarm system; emergency lights and exit lighting are checked and replaced as needed. The site is inspected by the fire police, keeps records of regular self-inspections and holds compulsory fire and explosion insurance. Smoking and flammable or explosive items are prohibited in the workshop.

04

Wood dust control

Dust is collected at source and production areas are cleaned regularly. Every area follows the 5S method (sort, set in order, shine, standardise, sustain); at the end of each shift, workers put tools away, switch off electrical equipment and turn off taps before leaving. The company controls noise, dust and waste so that they do not affect the residential area around the factory.

05

Waste management

Wood offcuts are sorted for reuse; paint, glue and hazardous waste are collected separately. The company commits that its products do not pollute the environment during use or at disposal at the end of their life, and that its manufacturing complies with Vietnamese environmental protection standards. Wood is sourced preferably from sustainable supplies that do not degrade natural ecosystems.

06

Saving resources

Panel cutting layouts are optimised with software to reduce material waste. Cabinets are designed in specialised furniture design software and exported directly to the CNC machine, so dimensions stay exact from drawing to panel. In the office and the workshop, staff switch off lights, fans, air conditioners and equipment when not in use; air conditioners are set to 24–26°C, and equipment is not run beyond its rated capacity.

IN AN INCIDENT

Who does what, and who to tell

Fire or electrical short circuit

Report immediately to the Administration – Fire Safety team and the area supervisor, and follow the factory’s fire-fighting plan. Do not attempt to fix electrical equipment without the right expertise.

Safety risk

Workers have the right to stop work when they see a safety risk and must report it to their supervisor immediately so that it can be dealt with. The company commits not to retaliate against anyone who raises the issue.
